Lumin Collaborative Launches Business Illuminated(SM)
Newly Formed PR R&D Lab Unveils MBA-program Overview Course for Its 2004 Class of Lumin Staff Members
New York City, (January 12, 2004) – Lumin Collaborative LLC (www.LuminLLC.com) unveiled this week its signature intra-agency professional development program entitled Business Illuminated(SM), scheduled to kick off January 14, 2004. Business Illuminated, a three-month-long immersion class for 50 Lumin partner staff members of various levels, will provide an overview of the concepts and strategic highlights typically found in an MBA program.

Guest instructors hand selected from the business world and academia will lecture throughout the Business Illuminated course. The instructors are positioned as subject matter experts on one of the key topics of the course, and their instruction will include a mix of real-business case studies and textbook theory.

The program kicks off in January with an overview and first seminar on Economics featuring guest luminary Donald Saari, distinguished professor of economics at the University of California at Irvine. The second session focuses on Marketing and Branding and features guest lecturer and UCLA Anderson School of Business alumnus Sterling Lanier, principal of Dig Marketing, a Southern California-based strategic marketing consultancy.

“The goal of Business Illuminated is to provide those among our staff who don’t already have an MBA with an overview and basic understanding of the key concepts and principles within an MBA program,” said Lynn Casey, CEO of Padilla Speer Beardsley, Lumin Board member and co-creator of the Business Illuminated program.

Lumin Announces Business Illuminated(SM)
The Business Illuminated curriculum features focused subject matter organized in a fashion similar to a university program, albeit significantly more accelerated. Some of the course topics include: Marketing; Human Resources and Operations Management; Accounting and Finance; Economics; Technology Management; Business Policy and Ethics; Strategic Planning and Quantitative Analysis; and Communication as a Competitive Strategy for Business.

“We expect that the graduates of Business Illuminated will be better equipped to understand and contribute to the overall business objectives of our clients, regardless of the clients’ business plan or industry,” said Mark Raper, CEO of Carter Ryley Thomas and Lumin Board Chairman. “When all our staff has been trained, we will all be conversant in the language and overarching strategy of business.”

Business Illuminated will be held two times in 2004 and will accommodate more than 100 Lumin staff members its first year.
