Conexión Joins Lumin Collaborative
Industry’s Only Think Tank Continues Focus on “What’s Next”
October 6, 2005, (New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis and Richmond) – Conexión
Public Relations, a full-service minority-owned firm specializing in the U.S. Hispanic market,
has joined the Lumin Collaborative – the industry’s two-year old think tank. Lumin is a
unique collaboration between distinguished independent mid-size agencies to share training
resources, identify industry best practices, develop new concepts, products and services
based on business needs and focus on a curiosity and keen understanding of what’s next in
effective communications. Carter Ryley Thomas, Padilla Speer Beardsley, Peppercom and
Patrice Tanaka & Co. are founding members.
“As we anticipate the future of PR and marketing, it is clear that we must better understand
the market impact of minorities, human life-stages and non-traditional communication
vehicles,” explained Mark Raper, Lumin’s founder and chairman. “In Conexión, Lumin now has
the experience and brainpower of one of the hottest Hispanic marketing firms in the country.”
With offices in Los Angeles and Miami, Conexión is comprised of experienced, bilingual and
bicultural professionals best known for strategic programs, on-time delivery and measurable
results that connect its clients with today’s diverse U.S. Hispanic population. Conexión’s
current clients include Baby Abuelita Productions, Ford Motor Company, Genworth Financial,
MasterBrand Cabinets, OneShare.com, Payless ShoeSource and T.J. Maxx.
“Lumin’s mission is so smart for today’s changing marketplace,” noted Martín Llorens,
President of Conexión. “The remarkable intellect and talent of the Lumin agencies, and their
cooperative spirit, make all member agencies even more competitive.” Gaby Alban, Chief
Operating Officer at Conexión, has joined Llorens on Lumin’s board of directors.
“As we continue to evolve Lumin’s mission, it becomes more and more apparent that adding
smart member firms such as Conexión will only further enhance each individual agency’s
ability to provide spot-on strategic counsel to our clients,” added Steve Cody, founding Lumin
member and managing partner at Peppercom.
Conexión was officially inducted into the collaborative at Lumin’s biannual “What’s Next?”
Summit in late September.
