Meet the Founder, Liz Angeli, PhD

Welcome! I'm Liz Angeli, and I founded Lumin Living to accompany you on your journey of spiritual growth and career discernment. With a blend of academic rigor, spiritual insight, and lived experience, our services offer a fresh perspective on navigating life's complex transitions and deepening your connection with the sacred.

Liz’s Journey

My path to founding Lumin Living has been anything but linear or certain. Like many of you, I've navigated my share of life's challenges and transitions:

  • I’ve been married and divorced, later coming out as lesbian.

  • Traumatic grief is part of my story.

  • 12 Step programs are part of my healing.

  • I’ve been a parental caregiver.

  • I left an award-winning academic research career to dive into discernment and spiritual direction.

  • I grew up Catholic and struggled to find full belonging after identifying as lesbian.

Through it all, I've come to embrace truths that now guide my work: God wastes nothing. Uncertainty is a scary path that leads to liberation. We do not walk the path alone.

Every experience, every challenge, every moment of joy or pain has shaped me into who I am today. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, I've learned to transform life's difficulties into opportunities for growth and deeper understanding.
