Workshop part of the Writing Innovation Symposium
This virtual workshop provides participants with space, time, and structure to respond to the question many mid-and late-career faculty face: “I’m tenured, and I’m promoted. Now what?”
Participants will reflect on “now what?” using Ignatian discernment, a 500-year-old contemplative decision-making process informed by one’s values and truest desires. Grounded in the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Ignatian discernment is described as an inner compass that, once attuned to, guides us toward fulfillment and integrity (Silf). It helps us learn how to respond to what the world asks of us. This workshop invites mid- and late-career faculty to attune to their inner compass by creating their own compass artifact to know how they might align their values, desires, and expertise with the next steps in their careers.
Free to attend. Register here by 4/21/2026 to receive the Zoom link.
